The Otherworld
A decentralized enlightened society
All politicians and the bankers that enable them are corrupt. Why? Because: "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." (Lord Acton). We now have the technology for all members of a community to vote directly on the structure and functions of that community, bypassing entirely the need for "representatives".
The Otherworld is a decentralized society based on the principal that every being is fundamentally good. It is structured and governed as a DAO - a Decentralized Autonomous Organisation. DAOs are organizations that run on peer-to-peer software backbones and empower groups of people to make non-hierarchical decisions about shared resources. DAOs have the potential to change the world, by making collaboration radically more accessible, direct and scalable.
The Otherworld is a techno-positive incubator of new projects in the blockchain, AI and related digital technology spaces. Good technology is necessary to tackle the major challenges faced by humanity. Otherworld raises funds for its treasury and from there provides grants for projects. Anyone can propose a project for funding and the citizens of Otherworld regularly vote on which projects to support.
The economy of Otherworld operates through its tokens, the Other and Vote. Any holder of Others is a citizen of the Otherworld. Others are publically tradable, their value determined by the market. Vote is valueless and used to vote on decisions in the DAO. Tokenomics is used to encourage citizens to hold Others in the long term, which encourages growth in value thus powering the economics of the whole project. The tokenomics imposes a tax on every purchase and sale of Others, which is used to produce liquidity for the token, to provide funds to Otherworlds treasury, and to burn tokens to increase scarcity and value.
Otherworld curates secular meditation practices to help citizens recognize the fundamental qualities of their own minds. Teachings on these practices are provided online and courses are run by qualified citizens.
